Dhaal

Method

1.      Rince Dhaal until water runs clear.

2.      Heat oil in frying pan and onions untill soft. 

3.      Add in ginger, garlic, chillies,  tumeric powder and garam masala.

4.      Cook for a few minutes

5.      Add the lentils and stir, add salt to taste

6.      Add 100ml water and allow to cook for 30-40 minutes. (until the lentils are nice a soft) - leave on simmer.

7.      Add your coriander

8.      Serve with a Gluten Free Chappati (roti) or Rice.

Ingredients

·         250g Red Split Lentils

·         1 litre water

·         3/4 tsp turmeric

·         3-4 green chillies finely chopped

·         1tbsp vegetable oil

·         1 small onion finely chopped

·         2 cloves garlic finely chopped

·         2cm ginger finely chopped

·         1/2 tsp salt

·         3/4 tsp garam masala
